Priyanka Chopra was born on 18th July 1982, in Jamshedpur, India, to Capt Dr Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra. Her father was a surgeon in the Indian Army Medical Corps. She has a younger brother, Sidharth. She was brought up in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh and was the favourite in the family and grew up in the affection and warmth showered on her by her parents, grand parents and other relatives.

Her schooling was in Lucknow in La Martinière Girls College in Lucknow, Maria Goretti College in Bareilly. Later went to the US, where she was a student at Newton North High School in Newton, Massachusetts and North Delta Senior Secondary School in North Delta before returning to India to complete high school at Army School (Bareilly). She began college at Jai Hind College in Mumbai but left after winning the Miss World pageant. She wanted to be a Software Engineer or a Criminal Psychologist.

Priyanka has had a very varied upbringing. Having been born in an Army family, she moved from Leh-ladakh in the north to Kerala in the south from Bombay in the west to Jamshedpur in the East. She imbibed the ethos of the multicultural Indian society.

Priyanka Chopra, Miss World 2000, is today among the top stars in Bollywood. And, going by the film offers she has bagged of late, she seems to be all set to rule Bollywood in the days to come.

She made her acting debut in the Tamil film industry with the movie ‘Thamizhan’ (2001) and two years later the young starlet took her entry in Bollywood with Anil Sharma’s ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy’.

Piggy Chops (a nickname she is often addressed with in media circles) went on to deliver commercial success with films like ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (2004), ‘Krrish’ (2006), her biggest commercial success so far, and ‘Don - The Chase Begins Again’ (2006). Since then, she has established herself as one of the most successful and popular actresses of the industry.

Though the actress hasn’t been able to secure any major BO success in her name since 2007 yet she has many big budgeted releases lined up for release in her kitty in 2008 and 2009, which include God Tussi Great Ho, ‘Chamku’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam`, `Kajri`, `Drona`, `Qurbani`, `Chamki Chameli`, amongst others.

·Known as Bollywood`s femme fatale, she prefers to do stunts all by herself. This perfectionist was reported to be highly dissatisfied with the use of body duplicate for her fight scenes in her movies. Piggy Chops had undergone a six-month extensive training in martial arts for her stunts sequences in Don. Family Background


The 24 year old actress was born on March 3, 1989 to parents Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kapoor. She is the second child in the family. Her elder brother is Siddhanth, who is currently an assistant director but started his career as a Disc Jockey.

She did her schooling in Mumbai and then took up theater studies at Boston University,  Boston, Massachusetts, United States.

After my first year at Boston, I was here in my summer holidays when the producer of Teen Patti, Ambika Hinduja, spotted me on Facebook and called me for a look test. I auditioned and got selected. And then Luv Ka The End happened and now Aashiqui 2."

Shraddha Kapoor debuted in Bollywood with a 2010 movie Teen Patti alongside Amitabh Bachchan, R. Madhavan and Raima Sen.  She had a supporting role and the movie did not do too well.   Her role was that of a studious college girl and a guitarist to boot.

The next year Shraddha Kapoor signed for three new movies with Yash Raj Films. Later, after her singing in Mahesh Bhatt's Aashiqui 2 the contract was cancelled. In her next film, Luv Ka The End, she played the role of a determined girl Rhea with a boyfriend who cheats on her. After crying and mopping over her state of affairs, the girl decides to take things in her stride and picks the baseball bat to get even. For her role Shraddha grabbed Stardust Searchlight Award For Best Actress in 2012.
